The Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension (SVBX) is the 10-mile, two station, and first phase of Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) expansion to San Jose. The SVBX will bring commuters into Silicon Valley with convenient connections to bus and light rail that serve major employers including Cisco Systems, Adobe, and eBay. After extensive federal and state environmental analyses, it was determined that project noise could adversely impact approximately 500 residences. The project services to mitigate noise impacts to residents included acoustical testing; preparation of noise reports, architectural design plans, technical specifications and cost estimates; obtaining building permits; and providing homeowner outreach and construction administration services.
