Resonance Acoustics provided acoustical consulting services for Grossmont College’s new 350-seat proscenium multipurpose theater, with drama, dance, and music components. The theater is also used as a community resource, for local and touring theater. Amplified music performances include musicals, jazz bands, Afro Cuban ensembles, and rock ensembles.

Additional programmed spaces are the lobby, box office, gallery, offices, meeting room, makeup/classroom, dressing rooms, and green room. The acoustical design incorporated an adjustable drapery system to tune the theater for various uses. A series of overhead reflectors will direct useful sound reflections to the main level and balcony seating areas.
